Independent, third-party
assessment and validation
is critical to Eco Healthy
Cleaning Program success.

Over the past decade, the growth of “green cleaning” has led to an abundance of claims and increasing confusion in the marketplace.  Absent adherence to rigorous national standards and a means of verifying compliance, it is impossible for facility managers and consumers to distinguish between “green washing” and high integrity programs designed to protect health and the environment.

In creating the GSI Eco Healthy Cleaning Program, we chose to adopt the industry’s highest standard for green and healthy cleaning, the Green Seal GS-42 standard. In addition, we have partnered with the Building Wellness Institute, a leading sustainability consulting, auditing and training organization, to provide:

• GS-42 Certification Training for GSI managers and supervisors

• Auditing of all Eco Healthy Cleaning properties to ensure compliance with the GS-42 standard

• Third-party validation and research documenting the impacts of high-performance green and healthy cleaning

• Program management assistance for GSI customers interested in achieving or maintaining LEED and/or Green Seal certification

• Industry recognition and media outreach and Eco Healthy Program participants
