Gali Service Industries launches GSI Eco Healthy Cleaning to protect health and the environment.
Bethesda, MD, June 2, 2010 – Gali Service Industries (GSI) today announced GSI Eco Healthy Cleaning, a comprehensive new program to help its janitorial services customers protect the health of building occupants and the environment. GSI is a Green Seal GS-42 Certified cleaning contractor, currently servicing 17 million square feet of commercial and government office space and over 100 multifamily residential communities across six states and the District of Columbia.
“We have known for years in the cleaning industry about the correlation between health and high-performance cleaning products, processes and equipment,” says Francisco Gali, CEO and Chairman of GSI. “The problem is that many organizations have been slow to adopt new approaches. GSI has made a corporate-wide commitment to Eco Healthy Cleaning because we believe that protection of health is an essential part of the value we create for our clients.”
According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, 50 percent of all illnesses are either caused by or aggravated by Indoor Air Quality. Following best practices for high-performance cleaning can result in five times fewer indoor air pollutants than conventional cleaning products and processes, and reduces Volatile Organic Compounds, which can cause respiratory problems and other health risks.
GSI Eco Healthy Cleaning is a comprehensive program to help building owners and facility managers protect health and the environment, while turning the care and maintenance of their facilities into market advantage. The Eco Healthy Cleaning Program includes:
-
Green Seal Certified cleaning products, equipment and cleaning practices
-
Third-party auditing and quality assurance for standards compliance
-
Stakeholder education and awareness programs and materials
“We have introduced the Eco Healthy Cleaning Program to ten of our clients, impacting several million square feet of facility space,” says LeRoy Dock, president of GSI. “The overwhelming response has been extremely positive, with every single client welcoming the new program and anxious to communicate the benefits to their stakeholders.”
GSI clients include national companies such as Johnson Controls, Raytheon and CSC; leading commercial office and multifamily property management companies; schools and universities; and Capital Area landmarks such as Nationals Park, Dulles International Airport and the Gaylord Convention Center.
